A short time ago, a terrible thing occurred to great people. The band DMBQ, and their manager Michelle Cable, were involved in an automobile accident while on tour on the East Coast. Mana "China" Nishiura, the drummer of DMBQ, lost her life in the accident. Our collective hearts mourn for her and her friends and family. The four other people in the van sustained serious physical injuries which, thankfully, will heal with the passage of time and good medicine.
Michelle, who lives here in San Francisco, is a good friend to us and to many of you. She is the kind of person you are lucky to meet once in a lifetime. Talented, driven, wise and honest. She is now stuck on the east coast while she recovers from her injuries. The music community of San Francisco has come forward with a desire to do all that they are able to help Michele and DMBQ through this. Money is needed to help Michele through her stay on the east, and to help DMBQ return home to Japan.
To raise money 12 Galaxies will be hosting a benefit November 18th. We hope that you will come out, hear some great bands, and in doing so help some great people.
